quick set up. We are currently in the process of buying a house, and we took the kids over there this evening to see it for the first time.
Ella: "Look at this room, Daddy!"
Bubblehead: "Yes, this will be mine and Mommy's room."
Ella: "How do you know? Did Mommy tell you?"
Fifteen years ago I was married.
"But certainly you aren't old enough to be married 15 years!" you say. Thank you! (just barely, but yes.)
I'd love to tell you that we celebrated with a romantic dinner, or a weekend getaway for two, or something along those lines.
Instead I celebrated by taking the kids to swimming lessons, cleaning out the minivan, taking the kids to a movie, and refereeing exactly 57 arguments. (Only one of which, was really justified.)
He celebrated by rushing to get to the Hong Kong airport on time for his 15(ish) hour flight.
Sadly, many of our anniversaries are celebrated along these lines. (apart, that is.)
"Mommy, your dad accidently made me eat this candy."
He's been gone two days.
Yesterday, my hard drive decided it's 2 months of life was long enough, and quit working.
Today, my lawn mower followed right along. (At least I was able to finish the front yard.)
Tomorrow, I think the kids and I will walk to the swimming pool rather than drive, just to be on the safe side.
"I'm pretending I'm a toilet!"
Parenting experts out there - should I be worried?
We're on our second day of summer vacation today, and second day of rainy, windy weather. I literally could not hear myself think today for all of the
"Hey Mama!"
"Come watch me, Mama!"
"Guess what, Mama!"
"Mama?!"
"Can I have..."
"Can we..."
I love them dearly, but come on kids, let Mama think!
And then it went downhill.
"NO ALEX!"
"STOP IT ALEX!"
"GIVE THAT TO ME, ALEX!"
(Ella is the screamer in this house.)
I really do like having them around. Honestly I do. But they are around *all* of the time now, aren't they! Every moment.
And they don't want me to forget it!
So much to do. So much to blog about. Not enough time.
For now I'll just give you a peek at my kiddos. This was taken on our trip, while visiting Poulsbo. Small changes here and there, but it looks pretty much like it did when we lived there. We showed the kids where we used to live, which they didn't care about. We took them to Sluys' for giant donuts, which they loved.
Time to move the laundry, and mow the grass.
